Application of fire-rated blankets

The webinar will discuss the use of Fire-Rated Blankets on ductwork for two applications. Grease Laden Vapor Extraction ducts and the use of fire-rated blankets for zero clearance to combustibles and shaft alternatives. A review of IMC & IBC language will be referenced. Air Ventilation ducts and the use of Fire-rated blankets when used as a shaft alternative. A review of IMC & IBC language will be referenced.
The second part of the webinar will also discuss the evolution and use of Low Bio-Persistent Fiber blankets Vs Refractory Ceramics Fibers.
David Kies will be the presenter. David is the Business Development Manager for the Building and Construction sector for Thermal Ceramics. He has a BS in Ceramic Science and Engineering from Penn State and has served in a variety of roles for Thermal Ceramics for nearly 30 years. These roles include sales, marketing, technical sales, and business development.
David has participated in Code Cycle meetings for NFPA 96, IMC & IBC.
He’s given Continuing Educational courses to Distributors, Contractors, Engineers & Inspectors in numerous states on the design, installation and use of Fire-Rated Blankets.
