Hearing Protection

Hearing and ear protection were designed as part of a hearing conservation program to reduce the risk of hearing damage to a worker exposed to potentially hazardous noise levels. Hearing protection is required when noise exposure exceeds the specified guidelines. These products come in various forms including earplugs, earbands, and earmuffs. Hearing protection products typically have a noise reduction rating (NRR) specifying the decibels (dB) by which they reduce sound levels.
