Mineral wool board is a high-temperature insulation that is composed of inorganic fibers derived from a volcanic rock. Mineral wool board is hydrophobic, helping prevent against rot, corrosion, and mildew. Additionally, it is highly fire-resistant and can be used in firestop applications and in temperatures up to 1200°F. Mineral wool board insulation can be used in commercial roofs, basement walls, and other building envelope applications. It is extensively used in industrial processes. Mineral wool board is available in a variety of densities and thicknesses from 1” to 4”.
